If a simple afternoon highway drive is to your liking, take US Highway 14 West from the Lazy R Campground, which takes you through the town of Dayton then winds its way up the Big Horn Mountains. Several turnouts along the way (some with interpretive signs) provide stunning views of breathtaking valley landscapes.
Once in the mountains, watch the open meadows for deer, moose, elk and other wildlife. Take a break along the way at Sibley Lake or one of the mountain lodges.
If time allows, at Burgess Junction take Hwy 14 thru grassy meadows and along the beautiful Shell Canyon to Shell Falls. Shell Falls parking lot is large enough to accommodate most RVs.
